24 Aug Smoothie Bowl :: Groovy Green Guava
THIS is one of my FAVOURITE local fruits.
Never really thought of it as a smoothie base until now.
I love munching on its own but pairing it with assam powder just gives that extra oomph!!
This time, with a different twist, I was dipping and coating with smoothie instead.
Strange to eat that way,
but what can I tell you… It’s super YUMMY!
How do YOU eat your guava?
As with smoothie creations, I consciously incorporate spinach/kale/veggies, something you’d have already noticed.
One biggest reason has to do with my frequent eat out lifestyle (unavoidable for now, sadly) and to mitigate the chance of colorectal cancer (or any cancer) or chronic disease.
Another reason is because it’s easy and quick to blend everything together and best of all no-cook!
I don’t own a kitchen so I’ve got to make do whatever I have in my office pantry.
Oooooo… and smoothie bowls are easily customisable.
Toss your favourite toppings AND VOILA! You’ve got yourself a delectable nutrient-dense breakfast.
- 1 cup spinach
- ½ banana, peeled, frozen
- ½ guava, chopped
- 2 teaspoons hemp seeds
- For garnish
- 2-3 slices of guava
- 1 tablespoon of oats & raisins
- A dollop of yoghurt
- Edible flower (optional)
- Place all ingredients (except oats, yoghurt) in a high speed blender and blend till smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl.
- Garnish with guava slices, oats, yoghurt swirls and edible flowers (optional).
- That's it!
