Guess what?

I bought a packet of six jambu merah , munched two and left the balance in the fridge for a little too long.

No, actually I forgotten about it.

One of them turned sour and I had to throw it away. Oops!

So what better way to use up the balance?

Blend away! My SPECIALITY…

Jambu merah is quite juicy on its own and there’s not much of a sweet taste to it.

So I added in some pitted dates to sweeten this smoothie. You can also do without these altogether.

Dates or date sugar (also known as nature’s candy) are healthier sweetener option because they contain nutrients, unlike table sugar, agave, high fructose corn syrup.

I mean if you’re taking sugar, might as well go for the most bang for your buck, right?

Love the innocent pink hue. Feel free to tweak the recipe!

Can’t find dates? Swap with mango or bananas

Allergic to nuts? Omit

Expensive raspberries?  Use strawberries instead

:: Jambu Air Smoothie ::

Serves: 1
Vitamin C overload with healthy fats!
  • ¼ cup cashew nuts, raw, soaked
  • A handful of raspberries
  • 2 jambu merah, seeds removed
  • 2 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Water to blend
  1. Place the ingredients in a high speed blender and blend till smooth.
  2. Add more water if you like it to be liquidy or less if you like it thick.
  3. Enjoy!
