08 Sep How to Combine Your Food + Recipe :: Sexy Shiso Plum
Has anyone told you before that you shouldn’t eat this food with that food?
Have you wondered which food combines best with protein or fat?
Look no further!
Because this is your answer.
If you’re looking at this and you’re feeling dizzy, I don’t blame you.
This chart looks absolutely crazy, rigid, totally not fun obsessing about the next food combination meal.
And no way to become sustainable.
Reason why I suspect food combining was created is because people are eating way to much carbohydrate namely, rice, bread, pasta and ‘added sugar’.
And guess what?
It led to so many of us having digestive problems.
So, the key is MODERATION.
In that way, you won’t be obsessing about avoiding protein while eating carbs, low acid fruits, high acids fruits.
You just focus on eating REAL FOOD.
This means reducing artificial, highly processed junk food.
ONE thing that I really LIKE about the chart is this –
Did you notice that VEGGIES combine well with pretty much…EVERYTHING?
That’s right…all that really matters, diet-wise is that we eat more plants, more real food based on plants.
Note that I didn’t say, don’t eat meat.
What I’m encouraging you to do is to change the proportions of things in your diet.
It’s about overall healthier direction.
One that focus on health deposits.
Although, here’s what I know to be true –
Some fruits will give you an upset stomach if you eat them with a meal. A common example- watermelon.
Otherwise, for most parts, it doesn’t matter.
So you don’t need to follow crazy, complicated food combining charts.
Listen to your body and reduce over-eating.
Did you know it takes about 20-30 minutes for your brain to register that you’re full after eating?
And talking about food, I’ve been seeing plums everywhere lately! (Have I told you I’ve got this weird obsession of heading towards supermarket even when I don’t have anything to buy?)
So, I’m making a SEXY SHISO PLUM smoothie bowl using the BEST ingredients for you!
Love the crunch of macadamia nuts for good fat, hemp seeds for clean protein and a good dose of fruits for micronutrients and antioxidants!
Make use of any fruits/nuts/seeds as toppings in your kitchen- go creative!
