Do you ever feel depressed, disappointed, disconnected from life?

We all face times in our lives when we’re sad and filled with regret.

Or even feel helpless in tragic situations like the recent Nice truck attack.

In this modern culture, we’re expected to snap out of it, move on with life quickly, maintaining a perfectly happy (and false) self-image.

And to pile things on top, we eat so much processed food to comfort ourselves (There’s a reason why food companies spend millions of dollars to design food with additive sensations)

In the long haul, we’re overfed and under-nourished.

 

How crazy is that?

Since we’re spending money on food with empty calories, why don’t we buy food that LOVE US BACK?

Let food be thy medicine!

Wondering which food helps to keep your spirits up?

 

You’ll be pumped to know that DARK CHOCOLATE (not milk chocolate) is in the list of foods that can improve your mood by increasing levels of serotonin, your ‘happiness’  hormone and dopamine release into the body’s pleasure centers!

Remember those times when you’re upset and want nothing other than chocolate? We use food to alter our moods all the time without thinking of it.

AVOCADO is a wonderful source of folate (Vit B9) which is strongly linked with serotonin levels.

BANANA is high in tryptophan, an amino acid precursor of serotonin production and contains magnesium which is so good at helping you to relax.

FLAX SEEDS containing omega-3 fatty acids helps combat depression.

Let’s blend all of em’ up and slurp our sadness away!

Boosting your mood, the healthy way! No-sugar-added
Ingredients
  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 1 teaspoon of cacao powder
  • ¼ avocado, pitted
  • ½ banana, peeled & frozen
  • 1 teaspoon of flaxseed
  • ¼c cup of water
Instructions
  1. Blend all ingredients together in a high-speed blender and blend till smooth.
  2. Add a splash of water if it's too thick.
  3. That's it!

Don’t fancy blending?

Snack on cacao nibs + banana or/and avocado!
